During the past 20 years we have matured to a thriving community theatre organization serving the broader Rolla and central Missouri region. It is all thanks to the support of our incredible community.

Rehearsing in various borrowed and temporary locations and squeezing our expanding stock of costumes, sets, props and tech equipment in random rental spaces, garages, closets, and spare bedrooms is no longer a sustainable model.
It became time for Fine Linen to have a home...a physical space in Rolla for the operational components of our organization to inhabit.

For more than two decades, Fine Linen Theatre has brought people together through theatre, education, creativity, and community — all without a permanent home of our own.
That changed in October 2024, when Fine Linen purchased the former Vessell's Fitness Center at 1910 N. Elm Street in Rolla.
Today, that building is the Chymiak Linen Mill — Fine Linen Theatre's permanent creative home.
WHY THE CHYMIAK LINEN MILL?
Our new home is named the Chymiak Linen Mill in honor of Ken and Susan Chymiak and their extraordinary support of Fine Linen Theatre. The name also captures what we hope this building will become. A linen mill is a place where individual threads are brought together and woven into something larger. That is theatre. Actors, musicians, designers, painters, builders, costumers, technicians, directors, volunteers, families, donors, and audiences each bring something different. At the Linen Mill, those individual threads come together.
What Comes Next?
Purchasing the building was a tremendous milestone. And best of all the building is paid for!
That milestone belongs to every donor, business, volunteer, family, and community member who believed Fine Linen was worth investing in. But our work isn't finished yet. Over the past two years, the building has been renovated into a space designed for the many different parts of Fine Linen Theatre. The Linen Mill now provides space for rehearsals, dance and music, scenic and artistic work, set construction, costumes and props, storage, classes, workshops, and community events. Most importantly, it is no longer just a future vision. We're already using it.
Performers are rehearsing here. Students are learning here. Sets are being built, costumes are being created, and events are bringing people through the doors.

The Chymiak Linen Mill is already becoming everything we hoped it could be — a place for rehearsals, classes, creativity, collaboration, and community. With the renovations nearly complete, the final phase of the campaign is focused on covering the remaining renovation costs and putting Fine Linen in a strong position for the future. A gift to the campaign helps complete this chapter and supports a permanent home that will serve performers, students, volunteers, and audiences for years to come.
